Katharine Cornfield is an independent management consultant focused on strategic organizational development. She works with forward looking executives to align people behind strategy, shift culture, and improve organizational performance. Katharine is also founder of ambiSHEous™, a leadership training and career development company focused on girls and young women. Through targeted training, coaching, and talent development consulting, ambiSHEous is empowering a new generation of young female leaders to become whoever and whatever they want to be.
Previously, Katharine was co-owner of Purpose Real Estate, a boutique brokerage serving non-profits, social enterprises, and community-based organizations seeking to align their space and mission, as well s residential buyers and sellers. Before her shift towards the private sector, Katharine served in various positions at the department of Citizenship and Immigration including Director of Integration Promotion at Citizenship and Immigration Canada; as Political Advisor to the Ministers of Citizenship and Immigration, Revenue, and Secretary of State Asia-Pacific; and as Program Manager at the Canada US Fulbright Foundation.
An active community member, Katharine has volunteered in various capacities with the YMCA-YWCA, Junior Achievement, and Women’s Leadership Foundation. She currently serves as Past President of the Board at Ottawa’s Causeway Work Centre, an innovative community development agency nationally recognized for its multiple social enterprises.
Katharine holds a BA in Canadian Studies from Trent University and a professional certificate in Public Sector and Non-Profit Marketing from the Sprott School of Business at Carleton University. A lifelong learner, she is currently pursuing her Masters of Business Administration (M.B.A) through the University of the People.
